anyone went from a head/cam c5 to a z06?
Im debating from selling my high mileage bolt on c5 for a low mileage z06. I was considering adding a cam and stall but I realized that with the cost of all the parts and labor, it might be a good idea to just find a low mileage z06. I can sell my c5 for 13k and buy a low mileage z06 for 24k(they're out there, you just got to look).
Anyone went from a cammed c5 to a z06 and regret it? Just want to make sure the cost difference is worth it. I just dont want to pay for a "z06" that feels/performs the same as a cammed c5 (no offense to the z06 crowd, remember that Im shopping for a z06).
Comments from people who went that route is appreciated.

I didn't go that route, but I'd imagine you would be very happy with a c5 zo6 that is new to you. Besides the lighter weight, better gearing and the list goes on, they mod so damn well. Throw some Lg Pro Longtubes, a CAI and good tune and your cammed c5 would have its hands full. Might not beat it, but would give your old car a run.
Good luck on what ever you decide.

Based on the superior handling, braking, aerodynamics, etc. I was VERY happy with going from my 427 RWHP F-bod to the stock Z06. In fact I honestly think they would turn about the same mph in the 1/4...only difference is my F-bod felt like it ripped better above 4K rpms. I also think a head/cam C5 depending on what combo you went with could definitely take out a Z06 but at the same time I've seen head/cam packages that were'nt that impressive either. You just need to test drive one to see how they feel.
I went from a C5 coupe w/ 150 dry shot to a bone stock Z06. Having the extra hp/tq all the time is great, but the rest of the car (handling, ride, feel) is incredible. I will be going F/I on it but I'm having a fricken BLAST with it just the way it is. I've taken two trips along the coast here in Cali and it's night/day difference. Oh, I had even upgraded my coupe with Z51 sway bars and C6 Z06 shocks... the Z06 is just a far better car.
I went from a '00 A4 coupe with heads/cam/nitrous/buit tranny/etc to a '02 Z06 and never looked back. Since then I've had an '04 Z06, '05 A4 Coupe, and just recently picked up a '05 M6 Coupe. The Z cars are just nasty. This C6 coupe is as well, but with all the bells and whistles, it's hard to tell.
