Thanks everyone! I got the car out a little this weekend. WOW!!! I don't think I will ever be able to out drive this car. Entering the Interstate in 2nd is a blast!! Then I have to slow down from 90 to the speed limit. Everyday I feel a little more comfortable in it.

You were right! After seeing the AO outside in the sun and not under the showroom lights, the color came alive!!! I'm not so sure about the cam just yet. But a tune may be in order. It's going to be real hard not to mess with this thing.

Thumbs up

Awesome ride man! So what are the main differences between the C5Z and C6Z?

I've been planning to buy a C5Z for a while. (I like the styling better on the C5) I wouldn't wait long before the TT system goes on. After reading this I may opt for the C6Z now. Considering its about 30k more! I've landed a solid career, we'll see how things pan out in Spring of 09! Hey good things take time and only 27.

Wow....where do I start? The two cars are VERY different! I do like the styling of the C5Z still, but the new Z has really grown on me. And the interior is much improved. The C5Z feels more raw and you feel more connected to the car. (Now that could also be because I have not owned the C6Z for long) We were in the market for another C5Z just a month ago. Then I test drove a C6Z. After that, there was no way I was going back to the C5Z. This new Z is a monster, and a blast to drive. I think you would enjoy a C6Z much more than a TTC5Z(not that a TTC5Z is nothing the sneeze at. ). If you are looking at them, take one for a ride, you will see what I mean. A used '06 can be had for a decent price nowadays.

Thanks for the info, thats why I love it here at LS1 Tech!
So your saying even a modded C5Z with the same whp there's no comparison?
With a few "minor mods" I know the C6Z can be turned into a real monster Naturally Aspirated. Having a nice interior is always a plus too.
Yeah the styling is real aggressive, looks real good. I've seen a handful of C6Z's on the road and my neck snaps everytime. Having the ability to go 200 mph is just icing on the cake. This is irrelevant, but how many miles per gallon are you getting?

Not a problem. The power comes on sooooo smooth in this thing. After about 4000 rpm, this thing is a rocket!!(and it's still stock) Modded C5Z's are awesome, but lose a lot of drivability when modded to a similar level. Both cars are awesome, but this thing just puts a huge smile on my face everytime in get in it.

MPG is very similar to the C5Z. avg..21 mpg hwy...28 mpg (<--- Yes, a 427 w/ awesome mpg's)

It really is a supercar for a real world price.

Thank you. True, but it is always fun to get and forget to have the key fob, and the car telle you, "you are stupid"(maybe not exactly like that, but thats how I read it).

I've been averaging 21mpg in town(mixed city and hwy) and 28mpg hwy.

Some buy a Prius to for good mpg's, I went with a Z06.

I figured with 10% down I'll have about a 9XX dollar payment. I think I should be able to do that.

1BDHWK, how does the C6Z hook on the stock tires, do you have to pedal it in 1st and most of 2nd? I'm guessing the C6Z feels more refined than the C5Z? I had an '02 C5Z and loved it, and I regret selling it sometimes.

John,

I haven't hammered it too hard just yet, but I have done a few spirited sprints. I was used to my M6 408 WS6 that I sold. So I normally roll into the throttle out of habit. If you would like, it will definitely blister the tires. But, I have noticed, in Comp mode, it really does stick to the ground really well. I am still on a stock tune and stock tires. Even the 1 to 2 shift it seems to hold pretty well. I think the TM is really helping out in that situation. It does feel as though it is on the verge of letting go constantly, but still hanging on to the traction. GM did a fine job tuning this car. But I think after a tune, it will be pushing the limits. Overall, I think the C6Z handles the stock power better than a stock C5Z. Now on a really cold day, with the stock tune, it should be a beast!

We sold our '02 C5Z a year ago, and regretted it ever since. This new Z is amazing. It is way more refined than the C5Z. I loved that little car, but I will not go back to one after having the new Z!!

If you are thinking about getting into another Z, this is the way to go!

Ben
