So my older brother has finally seen the light and he's stepping out of the import world. He has a 05 Tiburon GT V6, with a few bolt ons. Thing is still slow as hell. He autocrossed it and is a decent driver. But hes moving on, thank god. Were going to check out a White 99 C5 tomorrow. Now I know the LS1 (I have a WS.6), but is there anything in particular about the vettes I need to check out on this car?

I know the question has probably been asked a billion but I didnt seen anything useful when I searched.

In case you cant find anything a few things I would check is under the front bumper if it has lots of scratches and/or dents, where it had been ran into curb, etc. Check the lower rocker pannel to make sure that it had not be hung up/scraped over something. Those are a few things I could think of off the top of my head, other than that just check general condition of car, options it has, minor thing like entry molding sometimes seatbelt will be slammed in between it and door and break the molding.

some other things to check are the mirrors on the outside of the car, the spring gets loose one them and they sag or move. check the removable top and make sure it latches tight, check weatherstripping around the top to make sure there arent any tears where it would leak. check for signs of the glass top (if it has one) of peeling or weathering. make sure the headlights go up and down without any grinding noises and they move smoothly. check where the seats would be at rib height for ripping or the threads. those are the things off the top of my head, i bought a 97 C5 last year, wasnt looking for a mint car but these are things i've seen or had on my car. good luck finding one, they are a fun car.
