yea but one thing that nobody ever says/talks about is the STOCK TIRES on the vette. They are garbage for racing. i have talked to more than a few newer Z06 owners and they all complain when getting on the car it just doesn't hook for nothing. GM needs to get rid of those tires on a performance car. Maybe for a base c6 ok, but not the high performance models. Run flats give you no feed back, no traction and they weigh a ton! Put on some pilot sports and run those cars in the video again. We will see the vette run just as fast if not faster.

SRT10 -0-60 in 3.4 and 1/4 mile in 11.6 at 126.5 mph-lap of 1:17.0

ZR1 -0-60 in 3.3 and 1/4 mile in 11.4 at 128.0 mph-lap of 1:16.0

ACR -0-60 in 3.3 and 1/4 mile of 11.5 at 127.0 mph-lap of 1:15.5

Of course they can all go much faster with actual owners but these are the numbers that Im expecting...

Should be soon!!!!!!!!!!!
I have no idea what you're talking about, but in TWO magazines already, it has went 131 mph!

Plus, this one just went 129 on a bad pass, so like I said, I have no cluse what you're talking about!

SORRY MAN YOU ARE QUITE MISTAKEN...THE MAGS QUOTED GM'S ESTIMATED TIMES OF 131 MPH..THEY DIDNT ACTUALLY RUN IT AT THE DRAG STRIP..IVE BEEN SEARCHING ALL DAY AND THEIR ARENT ANY TIMES YET...Now do I think it will trapp 131 mph..Hell yea. The Vipers are 100 pounds heavier at 3450 pounds and have 38 less HP and people have been trapping 127-130 mph in them bone stock...So I think the ZR1 will trapp 129-132 all day long...

cant wait for the head to head

it'll trap higher than that even...with traction. my 480ish rwhp zo6 trapped 127-129, my 575ish rwhp zo6 traps 134-136. They are dynoing 550ish stock...just give it time fellas its going to haul major ***.

So the ZR1's are dynoing the same as the SRT10 vipers???? The Vipers are dynoing 540-550 rwhp.....If thats the case then it's not gonna be much faster than the viper at all if any..NA cars are always a lil faster than FI cars rwhp VS rwhp..

I figured the ZR1's would dyno closer to 590 rwhp. where did you get these 550 rwhp numbers....

Also you have to remember that your 575 rwhp Z06 weighs only 31xx pounds vs the ZR1's 33xx pounds...And the ZR1 dosent have that amazing M12 trannie in the C5Z06s that was MADE for the drag strip IMHO....So i dont see 134-136 trapps...No way....Thats Saleen TT Territory..Maybe 132 though....

While Im at it let me say this. I think GM has screwed up with the ZR1...Or not necesarrily screwed up with the ZR1 but they just made the 2006 C6Z06's to damn good...

The 2006 z6Z06's weighing in at a featherweight 3140 pounds are the fastest year C6Z06.....It's not unusual for them to touch 124-126 mph trapps ..Few 127's out their with them...With only 450 rwhp thats amazing. but a weight of 31xx pounds and a 7200 rpm redline makes for some amazing mph....Now if I remember correctly GM published that the C6Z06 would only trapp 125 mph....Well that was easily beat....

Now in 2007 they added some weight to the c6Z06 were now a good run is in the 123-125 mph range. And in 2006 they added a lil more where it very uncommon to here of a 2008 Z06 trapping more than 124 mph..

Almost like they were trying to make it slower in order to make the ZR1 shine..But the 127 mph trapps of the 2006Z06's never left our minds...

So now they rate the Zr1 at 131 mph while the C6Z06 was rated at 125 mph...Is the ZR1 really gonna trap 6 mph higher than the C6Z06 in head to head testing..Hell no man...But they rated it 6 mph higher to make it look better...

In head to head comparisons the Viper at 3450 pounds and 550 rwhp trapped only 2-3 mph higher than the C6Z06..

Whats a 3350 pound 590 rwhp car really gonna do? Im guessing 3-4 mph higher trapps...

GM dosent want to admit it and is wording everything perfectly..

BUT A 3350 POUND VETTE WITH A 6200 RPM REDLINE AND 575 RWHP ISNT GONNA BE MUCH FASTER THAN A 2006 C6Z06 AT 3140 POUNDS AND A 7200 RPM REDLINE AND 450 RWHP

Im no Z06 lover and really prefer vipers. But i think everones gonna be surprised at how well the 70K vette dose against the 105K vette. ( Atleaste in the 1/4 mile) road course is no contest

So how is a 2006 ZO6 heavier than a 2008? 3 miles a hour faster due to weight!

on LG's scale, a 2009 Z06 weighed in at 3099 (2LZ with not a lot of gas in the tank). Consistent with your point, it is up about 50 lbs from 2006.
