346 vs. strokers

Default 346 vs. strokers

I have seen good dyno numbers from both, How many of you guys out there with stock cubic inches has had a run-in with a car that have stroker set-up? Was it on the street or the track? What was the outcome?

i am going for a stock cube combo in my conversion, but that is only a matter of time and money really. whatever you can do a a 346inch motro you can do to a larger motor, and the larger motor will turn out more power from it.
there is no replacement for displacement only applies if the combo is right. big motors still don't make up for errors in parts matching.
or you can jsut buy a turbo set up and replace displacement with force feeding

well, there was no NA 346 in Kansas City faster than my 383, not that I heard of anyway was over .2 faster than the closest and I had a lot of room for improvement also. was hoping for 10.5X @ 130

that's a loaded question man, every car is diff. a big motor car with no suspension on a street tire for example aint' gonna hang with a 346 with suspension and a tire on it.

its a case by case basis...just cuz you have the HP doesn't mean you can put it to the ground

there's plenty of bigger motor cars i'm faster than and there's plenty of them that are faster than me..

Also 30RWTQ and 25-30RWHP doesnt make THAT much difference when you are already in the low 11 second range. (Maybe 1.5 tenths tops)

So, do you guys think that 2k-3k is worth the 30rwhp and torque?

I do yes. Not so much for the track (gearing and tire choice can really help there) but on the street the extra torque and HP is fantastic. I make 400RWTQ at 3000rpm. It's awesome on the street. I never see that rpm on the track but man you can notice it around town

In your opinion what gear do you think is the best gear for a street driven stroker behind a M6. How much duration is too much?

probably 4.10's although i loved my 4.56's. low 240 duration with about .600 lift is probably what you want.

I run 4.11s and a 26 inch tall tire. On the track I am going with a 28x9 inch slick (27.3 diameter)

3.73s were perfect on the street for me, the 4.11's are good as well but they just annihilate the tires
