Smile Back from the Track!

Back from the track!!
Had a good time at the track today

The weather was nice (59 degrees with baro of 30.1) but there was a fairly strong headwind (~15mph)

DA was ~800 feet

Here is how I ran the car:

32 psi in the rears (runflats)
39 psi in the fronts
traction control off
Car in "D"

Mods:
TCI 3000 stall
TPIS headers
Halltech Stinger
stock 2.73 gears
160 stat
Stock Goodyear runcraps at 32psi

St. Thomas didn't have ANY VHT to put down. (They havent BOUGHT any yet)

Traction was a BITCH but it sure was FUN!

For all runs I was forced to launch off idle and feather the throttle. (spun all the way into second gear at ~60mph)

Best run of the day (feathering the gas)

sixty: 2.226
330: 5.779
1/4 ET 13.07 (So close to 12's first time out)
1/4 mph 110.0

Ran a couple 13.0s 13.1s, 13.2s all around 109-110mph

Traction was so bad I left the track to fill up the tank with gas and come back halfway through the day.

(Taner offered to jump in the hatch but I didn't think the tech staff would allow it LOL!)

Anyways, it was a great day. With DRs, a mild 1.80 sixty and no headwind I think ~12.4's at ~112mph will be possible.

That wont be too bad for a couple of boltons

Chris

ps- My wife was so afraid I was going to put the car in the wall that she said I can buy drag radials

Thanks Mike

I was surprised with the mph especially considering the wind.

The shifts are early as well. 1-2 is ~5800rpm I think and 2-3 is a little early too but not as bad.

With dyno tuning, more shiftpoint adjustments, and traction it should pick up a good bit I think.

Thanks again!

2.2 60ft doesn't sound like fun to me..

Get some traction for that thing!

I seem to recall telling you to set those shiftpoints to 6100 didn't I?

Definitely some good mph there! Too bad they didn't put down any VHT! I'm glad I didn't bother running today (I'm not going to run until I get my dyno tuning redone, which includes bumping my shift points from 6000 to 6100 too)

nice to see you and Lori again! throw on a set of DR's and then go back out, back when my car had boltons it went 12.7 @ 110 mph, and you have an automatic, with no gear ratio helping you!
