The design of the car is that of a wing. It creates lift naturally. Flat bottom, curved top. The spoiler helps reduce lift, and at a 180 mph, that is more than necessary.

I remember hearing monte mikho (yellowbullet.com) talk about his car and how he's never had problems with his stock 3rd gen wing and he's going faster than that. I've seen tons of cars go quicker than 174mph and some had the extended wing in the back, but none of them had that pro-mod style (extended and then on the ends has two other wings that are 90 deg to the ground) so that's why I was curious.
It just seems to kill the look of the car. Just my two cents...
The car is definitly badass.

Here we go:
Low 7 second car at over 185mph.

That's bickel from this sight. Maybe he has some insight as to why he doesn't need that wing for his firebird.
Another bottom 8 car on dr's at 170+mph.

He just has a stock wing on it.
Not trying to argue. Just tryign to demonstrate why I was confused that it had such an elaborate wing on it. Good day!
