Default A little help

I'm trying to understand why my car traps so high in the 1/8th, but falls off in the 1/4. I consistantly run 97+-98+ MPH in the 1/8th, but typically trap 119-120 in the 1/4. With those 1/8 speeds, I'd expect 124-125 MPH in the 1/4. BTW, I don't powershift.

Below is one of my most recent runs (time trial at E'town on 9/3). I think the DA was around +1600 yesterday, though I've had 98+ MPH 1/8th's even when the DA was +3000. I am on a CCW drag package. Normally, my 60's are 1.7x. This was one of my better 60's.

60'...... 1.669

330'.... 4.787

1/8..... 7.352

MPH.... 98.43

1000... 9.579

1/4.... 11.431@121.84

Any suggestions on what is going on?

have you logged any runs to see what might be going on?

I'd feel for ya, but you're running mid 11's, so I don't. Stop whinning.

LOL...I'm not whining. In fact, I'm hoping to go lower as the air gets better and if I can get the 60' time into the 1.5x's. I'm just trying to understand the MPH inconsistancy between the 1/8th and the 1/4.

the mph isn't that far off between the 1/8 and quarter IMHO. You're still running the back-half of the track better than the front half based on et. It's possible the car may be losing a little hp at/near the end of the run, so autotap or logging a run to see what the fuel/spark curves are doing might help here.

i definately agree that you should be trapping mid 124-127 depending on weather. do you have a shift light? it could be possible that your shifting to soon when shifting into 4th and that would cause your MPH to be low in the 1/4.

thats a sweet setup by the way. i just sold my buddy my absolute speed stage 2.5 heads/ 90mm LSX/ g5x3 112 and hes getting that installed on his 02 z06. hes got 3:90s. how do you like the 4:10s? he thought 4:10s combined with the steep 1st gear would be too much.

Thanks. I'm beginning to think that the shift light might have something to do with this. I will adjust it up a bit. Perhaps I'm not letting it go as far in the "big gear" as it could. I still also believe that there is some more to be had in the tune. So as others have suggested, I will attempt to get some data logging done at the track this fall.

As for the 4.10's, I love them. I don't think its to much gear in 1st...you just need to be quick once you launch. I like the combination of components on the car. It's street characteristics are great.

what rpm are you shifting at? i was looking at your dyno graph on corvetteforum.com and saw it peaks at 6500, going by that id what to be in gear at 6900 so id set the shiftlight at 6700 to give you time to be in the gear.

at 470rwhp, your defiantely making the power to get 125++mph.

geneus...check your PM.
