Default Will I run this?

Well I know everyone prolly hates these threads but I got a bet going with one of my buddies. He says I can run a 7.9xx in the 1/8th with the car I'm buying. I purchased the vehicle today. When I run it should be on 315/17 nitto drag radials. I'm a pretty decent driver was able to get 1.9 60 fts out of my last car on stock goodyear street tires. (01 Cobra 4.10s, exhaust, intake)

Car is a 99 Trans am M6. I figured I should be able to get 7.9xx no problem but I may be wrong? I don't want to lose this bet hah.

I dunno, on street tires, that's a pretty big bet to make. If you had DR's, i'd say heck yeah, as your car has busloads of power. I'm thinking your run a 8.0 sec. 1/8 mile at over 87mph. Then again you did say you are a good driver, so maybe you can do it. Let us know how it goes, and what you spend your money on

P.S. - how much did you pay for the car?

I'll be on Nitto 315/17 drag radials when I go to the track. I prolly won't be the best driver of this car though. It took my several passes to be able to cut 1.9 / 2.0s on street tires on the Cobra.

Nitrous will come soon and I should have no problems seing 7's

I got the car for 13,800 99 Trans AM 60k on body 4,500 miles on head/block, and tranny.

you shouldnt have any problems getting 7.9

**** my A4 car has the same bottom end as you, but you have heads, suspension, 12 bolt, intake manifold, headers; whereas i dont. my car runs 8.0x in the 1/8 on motor and has ran a few 7.9xs before.

The car from your sig runs 8.0 1/8th mile?
and that puts you at 11.3's?

I ask because my last time at the track i pulled 7.8 1/8th mile times and was not close to 11's.
1.61 60fts but seems to be missing something on the last part of the track.

And yes, Your new T/A will have you deep into the 7's with a little practice launching.
Good luck!!

He said it ran that on the motor. The times in his sig for 1/4 mile are probably on the bottle.
