Unhappy Timeslip question

i am curious about your opinions about my times and mph,ok i asked so lets hear what you think please.

1.61
7.84@84mph
12.50@106

car was consistent all day w/ 60ft and 1/4 times also mph did not very that much either.

2000 SS A4
Hooker LT's
ORY pipe
Borla w/o a plate
PT4000 stall
Diablo Predator
Lid/K&N
NGK TR6's
SFC/STB/LCA relocation brackets(All BMR)
Nitto drag radials -no traction problems, 2500 rpm's then rolled into it.
3:42 gears
Walbro 340 pump
Seems to me like there is NO mph , and i am down 3 mph in the 1/8th from my 3:23 gears and the SS4000 i swapped from.
It did run 7.9@87 before fuel pump,PT4000 and 3:42 gears.

What to do next,am in need of a tune that bad? Unless mentioned all else is stock. I have a 150 shot of NX kit on there but i don't even what to go there yet. 1 problem area at a time!

TIA ,
Dave

I'm not sure what direction to send you in, but based on the killer 60 foot time, I'd say you are making the most of the 106 mph to run a mid 12 second time. should it be faster? I can't say, but remember that weather/air and convertor slippage all come into factoring your past and present timeslips.

Good luck getting more from her!

Thanks.
I am starting to wonder about the valve spings ,maybe it is time to replace them with something that is meant for racing type abuse.

I have 93k on the car.

I hope to get a 11 second time slip without changing the Head/Cam combo yet.

Does anyone now of a good dyno to make a few passes on around the Grand Rapids area?

TIA,Dave

it wouldnt hurt to have a good tuner look at her. a buddie of mine had a 98 ss a4 w/ most of the bolt ons and when he put a stall in it the car felt faster but didnt run much better at the track. the torque management system was holding him back, at least thats what we were told. he had it dyno tuned and it pulled 299 rwhp on the first pull and after the tune it pulled 330 and he also picked up like 50 lb's of torque. good luck Charles

Hey , Now theres a blast from the past!
After spraying this thing in PCB i found out my nozzle was the wrong 1 for what i wanted to do.

I was using a NOS fogger and it was not big enough to flow 150 RWHP as a single nozzle set-up. The internal passage was no bigger than my 100 shot jet,so switching to a 150 did nothing but make it run rich.
I replaced it with a NX nozzle and went from 11.7 down to 11.4's with no other changes. I thought that was pretty cool.

The new PT4000 vertor str is ??????
You know i have NO idea, I never asked Yank. All i know is it 60fts easier and a little quicker for me.
Packy, how does your car like the Procharger set-up,that must be a total rush to drive. It was real quick before!

It likes it and moves out really good! I just have to fight to keep traction in 1st and 2nd.

I think about the only thing I would do is maybe try and get it tuned with LS1 edit, HP tuners, or one of the other types of software out there. A good tune can do you wonders sometimes. Those handheld programmers are very limited in some cases. Also when your mph was higher before did you have crappier 60' times and were you spinning more? Good luck!

That's sweet.
My previous (best time) was 12.24@110 with a 1.62 60ft(7.94@87 )
not really spinning much at all.

I know weather can be a big deal, but as far as temp goes it was cooler for this event than the last time at the track.

Thanks Cory.

A M6 will almost always out MPH a A4.

Just let me know when you want to line up and see just how well that 3 MPH does for ya
I think my mph problem is solved, BIG TIME rattle from a broken Dynomax Bullet. Pulling timing big time, problem now solved and hoping to get to the track 1 more time this year and see.

Come on Wade,I only have Exhaust and a Convertor. It should be close .

Unless you bottle it! Martin's last test and tune is this Saturday. Stanton's last day is next Sunday I believe.

Wow you guys are killing my ETs. I ran at Martin a couple of weeks ago w/ my stock 98 A4 Z28 and could only get a best run of 13.8 at 102 mph. 60' was 2.09. I am installing a Fuddle 3400/2.1 converter soon w/ a cooler and some DRs so I am sure those will help. Do you guys know of any good tuners in West Michigan??? Thanks.

Best tuner i know of that exotic performance plus?? in indiana they specialize in fbodies/c5 vettes they will be installing my F13 cam in april or so too.

Its about 95 miles from grand rapids. Dennis, i did 13.4@106mph at mcbride on a hot day. Martin i did 14.2@99 or 100mph on a cool night. I think that track sucks. I heard the left lane doesnt meter time correctly. i know several others with similar complaints.

Martin sucks? Have you been there since they redid it? I've never heard anyone complain about the left lane not giving correct times. Once in a while they have a malfunction where the the whole system locks up but it's not very often. Martin is WAY better than Stanton since it's been redone. Stanton has lots of dips and bumps now. They haven't done anything to keep it up since it had been redone about 10 years ago.
