Default What is DA worth.

Last week at the track the DA was -1800. I ran a best of 7.35@97.76 1/8 and 11.36@123.49. All three runs were over 97mph in the 1/8 and over 123 in the 1/4. So this week the DA is -800. My best pass 7.39@96.59 1/8 and 11.39@122.65 in the 1/4. That was the best run. All the other passes were in the 95mph and low 122mph area but the ET stayed in the 11.3x area. So what happend to my mph. I am down about 2mph on average in the 1/8 and 1mph in the 1/4. All 60ft times were in the 1.7x's both times to the track. The car is an 02 Z06 with a MTI cai, Supermaxx catted headers, and comp 224/228 114 cam. It put down 405rwhp and 385rwtq corrected. The car weighs 3,200lbs. Every one else out there was putting up new bests. I don't know if there is some thing wrong with the car or what.

The lower the DA the more dense the air is, the more oxygen content it has and therefore more fuel you'll burn resulting in more power.

Here's what I came up with.

Your results:
E.T. 11.36 (sec)
Trap Speed 123.49 (mph)
Measured DA -1800 (feet)
Corrected to -800(feet) DA
Corrected ET 11.479 (sec)
Corrected Trap Speed 122.15 (mph)

Thanks. I am registerd at your sight and have been trying to get on for a while now but I can't. Is it a pay sight now? It keeps asking me for paypal. Do I have to reregister. I love your sight. I used to use it all the time. I was out of the country for about a year.

So by the calculations I am still making the same power and the car is okay. But the air is what is starting to kill my performance. What does your sight say a 3,200lb car should run with 405rwhp?

As far as the topic of DA I think your car performed on par with how the weather conditions changed.

Every 1000 ft DA change is around a tenth in ET, but that varies on each car and how the car is tuned to handle the air. You have to also pay attention to you 60 foots, the conditions (cloudy versus bright sunshine) track temps, etc. I usually see a 2-1/2 tenth swing between close to sea level conditions in the winter to 3500 DA in the heat of summer here.
