Default 14.0 at 99 mph

i think i did pretty well for my first time drag racing my TA, i had 2.3-2.4 60 foot times though, thinking if i improved those i would hit 13s

best run was 14.0 at 99, 2.3 60' and worst was 14.185 @ 98.25 mph 2.4 60'

i guess thats good for just cai, shorties, and exhaust?

half tank of 91 octane gas

heres a video of it

Not bad times for an LT1. Get that 60' down and you will definitely be running 13's.

My dad was able to run a 13.8 at 99 with a 1.994 60' with basically the same mods and hes not a very good racer. Flowmaster*, eldelbrock shorties, K & N CAI, and a cutout 1/2 tank 93. without the cutout open he ran a 13.9.

Check the sig for my A4 LT1's time. All I had was an air intake, tune, cat-back and 3.73's

Maybe a really slow one. I think the thread starter should run quite a bit faster than a 14.0 with the mods he has.

like i said, my 60' was 2.5 and tires were at 45-50 psi

i wasnt launching at all haha

and based on the trap speed i think i could do a high-mid 13, also had full tank of gas and only running 91 octane, i wanted to put in 110 but meh

I have heard that LT1's have more low end so spinning may become an issue.

Don't take this as advice from a pro, because I'm far from it, but it sounds like the best method might be something like launching just above idle, around 1200-1400 rpm and ease on the throttle as you pull off the clutch (imagine both feet attached to a string looped over a pulley, as one goes down, the other comes up at the same rate, you follow?) And for pete's sake, drop your air pressure to at least 25-30... 50 psi... come on man!!! LOL!!!

You can get in the 13's, probably fairly well into them, .80's maybe!

If using street tires keep them at the recommended pressure. Others have told that reducing tire pressure causes radials to cup and you lose traction surface. Stay out of the water box and spin the tires just enough to clean them. It has also been told that heating radials reduces adhesion. If you have an A4, break torque very little, if at all. The 4L60E gains nothing by break torquing on the line.

My 95 Z28 hardtop had 2.2 60 foot times with 100 mph trap @ 13.987. Hooker exhaust, CAI and UD pulleys. I tried several things like tire pressure and break torquing but my best time was with stock pressure and a 1200 rpm launch. Now, for the real racers to correct this.

I would agree with that, but he said 50psi... never seen a recommended psi that high. Those would be bowed out, not any better than cupping.

Agreed!

I took it to be a M6 car, if not, I am of no help!

Not much to correct, very helpful since you have experience in a similar car!
