Default cant hook or cant drive?

i need help with my launching technique guys! i have a spec c stg2 clutch with maybe 5k miles on it and it is a bitch to slip, a practically brand new tranny too matched up to a short throw hurst shifter. all the seals, gaskets, synchros and fluids were changed. i also have practically brand new 285/40/17 BFG KDWS in the rear with maybe 4k miles on them.

i launch anywhere from 1500rpms and just bogg the crap out of my car or i launch at 3000 and try to slip the clutch and the car chatters so violently that the car starts to buck back and forth. it feels like im engaging and disengaging the clutch. with my mods im only pulling off a 13.6 at 106mph in the 1/4 now with my mods i thought i should atleast be able to break a 13.0 or maybe with a pray high 12's. my best 60' is a 2.01. i dont miss any shifts, i bang gears pretty damn good too. i have been able to launch other vehicle with no problem, its just im not used to this ceramic clutch. what is so different about the ceramic clutches versus the stock ones?

the only reason im asking is because i know i dont have a crap motor, i mean it dynoed 310 stock w/ a paper air filter. and i beat alot of vehicles from low rolls(10mph) that break low 13's and high 12's. what am i doing wrong? any help will be great!

stage 2 I thought was kevlar? Anyways... entry level clutches are usually organic material. Which means they have a higher slip percentage. Once you start to get more of an aggressive clutch disk, the material gets tackier thus it changes from a normal slip-like clutch to a light switch (on/off). Street radials need a clutch that slips cause they can't be hit hard like a slick. And slicks need an agreesive clutch cause if a stock clutch is used your chances of glazing are dramatically increased.

Solution: Get some stickier tires or swap to a stock like clutch. I'd opt for the tires if I were you. -Mark

EDIT: just noticed your 60ft. That's actually good for a street tire. Trapping 106 and only running 13.6 tells me either you may be shifting at the wrong rpm or your shifting may need to be done quicker. -Mark

Have you ever had your car dynoed before? If so, wherever it made peak hp you want to shift about 500 rpms above that. Typically. For instance mine peaks at 6200 and I shift at 6800-6900. Plus what was the DA (density altitude) when you ran that 13.6? Weather is a huge factor on what ET you are going to run. Do you powershift?

im still on stock tune, so i havent changed my shift points yet. i also cant remember off the top of my head what the da was. i will have to look. i know how to power shift, but i choose not to because im afraid my rear end will break. even though i dont have a lot of power, ive still seen stock ls1's break their rearends by powershifting.
