First time out at the track

Default First time out at the track

well the car is a 01' camaro 6MT, 80k miles, stock rims and tires, slp lid, magnaflow catback
first run was a 14.3 @ 101 with 2.6 60 ft, second run was a 13.9 @ 102 w/ 2.2 60 ft

i was expecting a little better may be mid 13s with higher trap speed

what do you guys think

BTW 4.10s are going in tomorrow and should have the diablosport monday

Not bad times. 4.10 gears will help along with more practice. Good luck.

The 4.10 gearing will make it near dummy proof IMHO. Just roll into the throttle off the line, and collect a decent 60'. I'm sure you'll drop atleast a tenth of a sec. from your 1/4 mile. Please let us know how it goes.

BTW, good run for your first time.

well i just got the richmond 4.10s in and diablosport tune, after 500 miles you think its ok to go the track?

It should be ok. From what i've heard it's not the mileage you put on the gears, but that you do 3 heat cycles with them. I've got the Richmond Gearing too. It's pretty stout, but mine do tend to whine a little at certain speeds. I've heard they are the most durable though noisy gearing.

Remember, anything above 1800 rpms is just gonna liquidate your tires w/ that gear, unless you slip the clutch. Just my $.02 for next time.
