Default New best…Finally a 100mph 1/8 mile!

I hit the track yesterday to catch some of this good air we have been having and ran a new best, and most importantly I accomplished my goal of trapping 100mph in the 1/8. The 1/8 and ¼ mile numbers are new bests.
Although the numbers are good I was really expecting better given the low DA. My 60ft was disappointing as well. I spun on all of the passes.
I really think the car has a 10.6x with a better 60ft.

Race weight was around 3370lbs and the DA was -700ft. I was running 26x9 Hoosier slicks.

60 – 1.51
330 – 4.41
1/8 – 6.85
MPH – 100.95
1000 – 8.96
¼ - 10.74
MPH – 125.90

I backed up this pass with the following passes:

60 – 1.53
330 – 4.41
1/8 – 6.85
MPH – 100.72
1000 – 8.96
¼ - 10.74
MPH –???.??

60 – 1.54
330 – 4.41
1/8 – 6.86
MPH – 102.43
1000 – 8.97
¼ - 10.76
MPH – 125.96

Good runs. I'm hoping to join that elusive 100 MPH 1/8th mile club as soon as the track opens. It feels great, doesn't it???

Thanks guys.

I have the usual weight reduction mods. On these passes I had the stock seats out with only a driver’s race seat so I was about 50lbs lighter than my usual race weight. Typically I do not race the car like this. Usually I just bolt on the drag tires and drive to the track.

All passes were N/A on the stock 1998 short block.

Jerry - No 9s for me...I would need so 28" tires for that.

I am running 3.73 gears in the stock 10-bolt and an automatic transmission

you can go 9s with 26" tires and 3.73...need to turn some revs and lock the converter but i think you are on stock bottom end so no 7000rpms for you

What kind of power are you making? Have you ever dynoed the car?

What's the driveability difference between this cam and your old 224? And what's the SOTP power difference? Did it loose a noticable amount down low and did it gain a noticable amount up top?
