FIrst Time at Track in TA
FIrst Time at Track in TA So went to the T&T at I57 dragway. There were maybe 15 cars so you could get as many runs as your little heart desired. There was one other fbody there: a cammed LT1. Said he couldn't get his nitrous working right and was running around 8.5-.6 .
Specs: Auto, 2.73, LM, K&N filter, run on Kumho712's 275/40/17
I know thats not really anything done to it, but I'm a bit dissappointed on how it turned out. Really wanted to get into the 8's. Best run of the afternoon was

Got to run about 8 times and more than half of them were 9.0x's . 60' was consistently in 2.0x range. Best mph was 83.15 (twice). I found it best to brake stall it to ~1500 then just mash the gas.
Is the mph on par? I thought a 2.06 60ft isn't really that bad. I just figured I would atleast be in the 8's? Weather was nice: 50% or so humidity and 70's.

Congrats on your 1st time at the track. Your times seem up to par for a stock car and being your 1st time to the track. They will improve with practice. Good luck.

I agree with coach on this one. There may be some more there but I think the gearing is helping the 2.0 launch but hurting the 1/8-mile. Don't get too down, we all had to start somewhere. Just keep at it, add some upgrades as you can and enjoy racing!
