Default 8.5's in the 1/8th

Well I went to the track Sunday and pulled in some 8.5's in the 1/8. The car has hooker long tubes, 3 inch ofy, corsa exhaust and 3.73's. Full weight. No tune to the car but just with a hypertech programmer and I didnt take it with me but I think its set to much in the rev limiter, its set like at 6200.

8.5's with a 1.90 60 foot at 83mph

1.90 60 foot is pretty good, were you running on sticky tires or just getting an unreal launch on street treads? I agree that a tune is in order, you'll see more power from a custom tune.

8.5 would be about 13.3 in the 1/4

i was getting 1.9 60' on street tires when my car had basically the same mods.

Those 60' times are a great launch in my eyes. But, I've been told I normally post useless information. Conclusion: this guy is a good driver and or the track was cool, what ever tires he ran, hooked, all the above.

Not finding fault with the original post, but. The transmission in this car is? The tires on my car were? The pressure was set at. In my opinion that information would have been nice to see in the original post and very helpful to others.

I really would like to see someone post in Drag Racing Tech section. A question similar to the recent question about what tires are best to run. I expect to make these mods also. The thread was closed because, a few folks, were more interested in name calling than actual information posted. Wouldn't it be great to then link the RESULTS back to the Drag Racing Results section?

Example:

I recently asked a question about tire size. Everyone, a few, or the people I trust, here said I needed this size. I found the tires with gear change, yielded an improvement of X. I then found when I hit my 100 shot of Nitrous the improvement was? This to me is valuable stuff. Same car same night, one track, with and without Nitrous. These runs were made on street tires. These runs on slicks. Nothing broke I was able to launch at full stall. Or I needed to drop 500 rpm to get the stock tires to grip.

Surely there is a way to link that information back into a history. A log where if I bought one of these damn cars, had a auto and a 3:42 gear, I could see the best results the worst, also an average with the following mods.
