First time out
First time out first time down the quarter ever today at NED in my '01 SS w/74k on it. had it a little more than a month. still has original plugs and wires. Mods: K&N FIPK (on car when i bought it), Hooker CB.
it was test and tune with a couple of events for bikes and stuff. track was apparently prepped good, had no traction issues, just bogging off the line. wasnt expecting it to pretty much dead hook with just street tires. didnt want launch any harder than 3k rpm with the 10 bolt.
First run: launched @ 2000rpm, bogged very bad

i think theres a couple tenths to be had with a better launch. Pacesetter LT's and ORY going on this week. maybe NGK TR55's and MSD wires too. hoping for 12's next time.

That's not all that bad for your first time out. Obviously you've got a lot to improve on in the first 60'. Practice, practice, practice. How were you launching? A quick slip at around 22-2400 and rolling into the throttle pretty hard netted me 2.0 60's on street tires when I was bolt ons. Good luck.
first launch was a 2k slip out. second was a pretty hard 3k dump. like i said, the track was prepped very well because it was test and tune, as well as other events that required the track to be prepped. so there was very little wheel spin. more bogging than anything. i wanted to go again and try launching it hard at around 4k. i think that woulda got me to 2.0 or better 60'. but i wanted to be able to drive it home too lol. so i just called it a day. i'll try it next time.
