1st time to the track
1st time to the track Well I finally got a chance to take the car to the track tonight. I got 2 runs in 5 hours, but for $7 I still had fun. I've dragged at the track on my old bike (cbr 600) but I've never ran a car out there. Anyways right when I staged I tripped both lights (doh) and they clicked the lights before I was even ready! I left around 2000 rpm instant tire spin, banged 2nd gear and went completely sideways had to let out, got back in it banged 3rd spun a little and stayed in 3rd until the end. 13.6 @ 109mph 2.4 60 foot lol. Well atleast I smoked the 18 second honda civic I ran.
1st run I was in closed loop and decided to try my open loop maf tune with hptuners for fun. Slip the clutch out of the hole around 2000rpm and I get instant tire spin, bang 2nd spin but keep it floored, bang 3rd and spin (hptuners says I went from 72 mph to 91mph for a split second). This time I get it into 4th gear before I cross the line. 13.43 @ 110.5mph 2.48 60 foot
4500 density altitude. Smoked the mustang that said GTR on the back of it haha.
The track has only been open 3 times this whole year and has no track prep at all, no concrete launch pad either. My 275/40/17's nexens are crap at the track (i know). I hook up alot better on the streets.
Anyways I just wanted a mph anyways. 110.5mph for an ls1 intake, ebay headers, no cats/air/egr, full tank of gas, ls7 clutch, full weight (3420) my own ported t/b and my own hptuners tuning via wideband. I can launch at 2500rpm on the streets no problem.
Does this mph sound about right for an m6 car? Track is closed for the year so hopefully next year I can break into the 12's.

Sounds real good for 4500ft. My friend ran 110.x with qtp headers, magnaflow catback, maf and home hptuner in really bad air this summer. He ran a 12.64 though with that mph because he had 4.10 gears and good tires....something to look forward to if you get to a prepped track.
I was thinking about getting the ls6 intake but now Im not sure. I was looking through the timeslips section and did not see anyone with 110.5 mph with a ls1 intake lol. I wonder how much I would gain with the ls6 intake. AFR was around 12.3-12.5:1 through the whole run. I would have loved to run in the 12's!
