Default launch rpm

what rpm should i launch at? all specs should be in the sig. the tires are 315 in back but they are hankook ventus, they are NOT a drag radial. i know i can hit a 12.99 in this car as is, i just have to work on my launches. thanks in advance for any and all info. -ryan

what was your sixty foot time? I achieved the my best 60 foot(which is still a crappy 2.05) by slippin the clutch from 3k. Mods in my sig except I havent been to the track since my LTs and ORY. I was running on 275/40r17 street tires. At first i was dumpin at 1500 and I was at 2.2x's and there was much more wheel hop then too. Feels much smoother and easier on the 10 bolt by slippin from 3k for me

out of 11 runs in my car so far, my best 60 footer was 1.97 and that was just a straight up launch letting the clutch out and pushing the gas at the same time. i've been out to the track twice and that's how i've been getting my best runs. i know theres gotta be a better way but i just spin if i dont baby it. im thinking i need to let the clutch out slower but i feel like if i slip it any more i might as well be driving on the street. i know i could use some drag radials or slicks but im on one hell of a tiny budget. i'm saving up for my next insurance payment on the car as a matter of fact. (you'd be suprised to see what us motor city guys do for our cars haha.)

1.90 60' on a radial seems pretty damn good to me, I counldn't get better than a 2.2 on radials! I'd stick with whatever you did to get a 1.9!

yeah i know, but the tires are 315s in back and they have just been broken in, so even though they are a street tire, im thinking they should hook pretty damn good as long as everything goes right on the drivers end.

Its going to be really hard to be consistent with 4.10s, a 6 speed, and street tires. The best investment I ever made was a set of Nitto drag radials. You can drive them on the street and still get 15k miles out of them.

I think a huge key to not breaking the 10bolt is to slip the clutch instead of dumping it. Also don't do dry hops after you do your burnout.

I'd rather replace the rearend than the clutch.
But I agree dry hops are not necessary

If you slip the clutch you can make it home from the track. If the rear breaks you have to find someone with a trailer.
