Removed the Dash.. some info and pics.
http://www.dxsoftware.com/misc/hardcore2.jpg
Weights:
HVAC/Blower Motor: 20.5 lbs
Dash: 11 lbs
Sound Deadening and padding: 12 lbs
Drivers side carpet: 8 lbs
Passanger Side carpet: 7.5 lbs
Passanger Air Bag: 14.5 lbs
Misc duct work/tubing: 6.5 lbs
Cross bar & brackets: 7.0 lbs
Note: Carpet is cut about 5 inches behind rear set bolts.
So, total behind the dash savings: 60.5 lbs!!!
Run dashless and take the pannels off of the doors and you're looking at another 30lbs of savings.
I'll be adding all the info and more pics to my web page soon.
FYI: Most of the dash removal is straight forward. Drop the steering wheel as much as possible to help pull the dash out.
The only tricky bolts for the dash are the ones that come in from the front and go toward the back of the car. 2 are straight forward on top, one is up in the top left hard to see, the other one is passanger side below the radio a little bit, have to get to it reaching through from the back. Unbolt the nut all the way on the pass side of teh body, about 8" up from the floor on the very side by the door jam is, THis will allow you to wiggle thigns apart more so you can get that hard to reach bolt.
As for removing the HVAC, there is the bolt that comes in from the engine bay, 10mm.. good luck. I had my trans out so I was able to get it from underneath.

Re: Removed the Dash.. some info and pics.
I updated my web page with all the pics I have, If you want mroe you'll have to request what you'd like to see before I reassemble.
I tell you what, pay for the materials needed to make the blockoff plate and feed me for the day and we're good... FYI, I'm bulking so I eat a LOT of food! lol

Re: Removed the Dash.. some info and pics.
Thanks guys.. I'll be posting the bolt count on my web page when I'm done, I think there are about 20 bolts or so.
Regarding the cross-bar bracket, I think you need to have it in to help keep the dash sturdy. Without it there will only be 4 or 5 bolts on top holding the dash in with nothing suporting the bottom. I guess you could make your own aluminum bracket, but that's too much work for me.
