I have searched but came up empty.
I have a pair of hooker long tubes I would like to get refinished.
I figured sandblasting was the way to go but wasn't sure if someone else had an idea. I got a quote from a local guy and he said it could be as high as $140.00. I might be cheap but that seemed a little high. They are cheap headers and I was planning on just hitting them with some VHT high temp paint after they were done so I didn't want to invest a bunch of $ in the refinishing process.

You could probably get them recoated for close to that. The place I send them to is in Oklahoma City called Airbourne Coatings. The use the good HPC style coating like most of the good/better header company's use. I get a buddy deal but it should be close to the 150-200 range in price for them to blast and recoat, then you'd have [almost] new headers.

 

I dont know about the sand blasting of those if the metal is thin any where you might have some extra holes in them soon. Plastic bead maybe? Price sounds high to me. Good high pressure wash, wire brush,Elbow grease, Vht them . If your wanting to use them and save $$$$$$$

 

I took a flap disk to the coating that is still in good shape and it didn't seem like it was going to be easy to remove. I priced a recoat from jet hot and they wanted close to $400 for inside and outside coating including shipping!!! I guess I must be cheap!!

Call the Airborne Coating guys, they won't be that high. I wouldn't pay 400 either! Maybe it's cuz they coat the inside, I didn't know they did that.

 

There is Airborn or Jet-hot, I have used Jet hot with good success. Their process takes the least amt of meterial out of the header to get them recoated.
