Could it be the weather?
Now It did rain last night, and everytime I go to the track after it rains its never a good thing, but Im honestly curious is this bc of the rain. I mean the track was dry, but can the prep really go down hill that easy?
Another possibility could be tires. I just put some new nitto 555's on there about 2 weeks ago, but I figured the newer the tire the better the traction. But I dont know, and also, before you bash the 555's; those were the same tires I had on there before and cut the 1.6xs.
Track was fayeteville, nc
btw, I did notice that there track help was different this time, and was not that great: guy kept forgetting to put water in the box for me.
bad news cut worst 60 fts ever today: 1.77, 1.79, and an awesome 1.87
good news I ran 11.8 without traction.
thanks,
pride
but if it rained and then they sprayed the track the next day it can trap in moisture (would be my guess as to what happened).
Mind you I drive 100mi one way to the track w/ tires on and even then the car is off 1 to 2 tenths in the 60' regardless of tire PSI, they are MUCH better and a little more consistant on subsequent track days.
As for an auto car I guess I could call that w/o traction, thats a m6 guys wet dream on those tires. I even have managed in the 1.78 but did far better with a real bias ply.
