8.50 cert without struts from main hoop?

Will a cage cert to 8.50 without the struts on the main hoop. Might be a stupid question but I was just wondering If I could get away with it.

As Fireball stated, they are required by NHRA and are outlined in the diagram in my sticky on "what do I need." Some tracks will overlook things, but when trying to certify a car they check it all.
