I think you would have to have Joe Van O or VFN or someone custom make you something.

It's really not as bad as you would think when you're sitting in the car. But then again, I'm like 6'5''

I've sat in a car that had that hood and beleive me, it sucked. I am 6'4" but made excellent under the hood clearance. If I had a carbed set up or something with a Wilson elbow, it would have NO issue clearing.

Also that hood got ALOT of attention from spectators and police were able to know the car from a distance alot easier.

Just some personal exp.

I have personal experience too, I bought the hood lol. And like I said, I see over it fine, and we needed something to clear the big single plane and carb.

I guess it depends on what you are doing. From the left lane you can see the tree and turnoff no problem with that hood, and I'm only 5'9". Plus, like camaro396 said, it clears my single plane and carb without a problem.

I'm 6'3, and I can tell you, that with a 10 pt in a 4th gen fbody, with a helmet on your head is on the cage. That being said I put my seats on the floor to be safe, and that hood would make seeing rather hard.

@ your height, sit in a car with a 10 pt and a helmet on, if the seat is on the floor you're gonna find your head right on the rollbar padding, and with the seat any higher then the floor you're gonna be hitting your head like mad unless you have the leanback seat positioning.

We haven't finished converting the 6 point to a 10 point, but we are using the seat bracket that madman sells (I can't recall if it's a wolfe or racecraft piece). The view is fine for dragstrip use. This isn't a cruise around town car by any stretch. Even if it was, the hood would be the last of my concerns. I would be more scared about bending up a Weld Magnum more than anything.

Yeah, but now pitch the car up like it is leaving the line with the front tires off the ground a foot and a half.. you won't be able to see **** for the first 300 fet until the nose settles back down. That is when the car is mose likly to get out of shape.

Look @# my sig pic, imagine 5 inchs of the windshield being blocked off. I couldn't see whit when that happened, with that hood I really would have been driving by looking at the wall.

You watch the wall and you watch the car next to you. I don't know what you want me to say? The hood on the firebird is small stuff compared to the hood we run on the "racecar."

The scoop we run on this car is almost level with the roof line. We seem to make do.

I just warn people of this stuff, if they haven't dealt with it they could be in for a surprise.

I would assume with him being in the 8 sec club he has a clue when it comes to drag racing specific parts.

My car was 6th in the 06 pumpgas drags only difference is a little bigger turbo. so the car can be street driven and is from time to time. the sfi25.2 has almost put a stop to that. it will go 7s has went 8.18 blowing thrue the convertor . but if you have a pic of a exteneded hood put it up.

Well, the VFN one that I posted, and the Joe VanO hood are the only ones I know of. Anything else your going to have to have something made, which will be cool but will probably cost a good amount of money.
