Is this an auto or stick shift, and what mods have been done to the car? Some people have gotten sub 1.8x 60 foot on the nittos, but M/T or Hoosiers are a better choice for a drag radial IMHO. Plus track prep and conditions always factor in.

^ like said Transmission makes a huge difference in what you can run and what parts you can get away with. Sounds like you have a M6 car. Get back with us and I am sure we can point you in the right direction.

I've also heard Nittos require a considerably longer burnout than a M/t or hoosier DR before they reach maximum traction temp

I've seen cars go in the 1.7's with completely stock suspension, automatics.
And the rule of thumb is 1 tenth in 60' is 2 tenths on the big end...

What I can say is this, it really depends on the transmission. Also it depends on any power mods.

On a STOCK car, he can get away with a DR even on a m6 trans because the car doesnt make enough power and isnt geared to really over power the tires. I have had Nittos and M/T and my M/T which was 4 yrs old and bald as ****, on a 3.42 ratio making 325 rwhp on a 5k clutch dump would still bog.

But once the full exhaust and cam got in there, given the weight would blow the nittos off. I went to a bias ply and now pulling wheels.

My best on motor = 12.40 @ 110 with a 1.85 60'. Converter is too tight on motor.

I'd say get some M/T drag radials (we have them in stock). What kind of suspension do you have on the car? (i.e. torque arm, shocks, etc.)

Well, BMR has a torque arm relocation bracket (I believe). When you get the tunnel mount torque arm, get this relocate.

Also.. you might want to look into getting adjustable lower control arms, an adjustable panhard, and a good set of double adjustable shocks. (AFCO or Strange would be your best bet) I can get you all of these parts. After you get your suspension set right, you'll get your 60' times down a considerable amount. If you're interested, give me a call at the shop. 225-673-3533

I used to cut 1.75 60's, 12.75 1/4's @ 106 mph. Full weight, fully optioned, stock suspension, stall, gears, and catback 2000 Z28. AT 3000' DA. On a 275/40/17 Nitto @ 15psi.

Ttops, leather, power seat, 10 disc, head/AC, etc.

Borrowed a set of Mickey Thompson DR's in size 275/50r15 mounted on 7" wide BMW wheels and they dead hooked on a 4000rpm transbrake launch in my 4000lb GTO. Pressure set at 20psi in the tires and 15psi in my dragbags. Probably would have been a heck of a 60ft, but it was first transbrake launch ever and I discovered having the button on the shifter causes you to accidentally pull it into 2nd gear. Threw me back hard for a few feet though. No spin whatsoever.

I did a 1.71 60 ft once on my Nittos. I was so nervous at the track, it was my second pass with the car ever. I haven't been able to even get close to it since, and I have no idea how I launched it on that quick pass. Most of the time I am around 1.9 +.
