Default Wheelstands and front end alignment ???

ok, i am really kinda new to the whole wheelstand thing, and by wheelstand i mean no more than 2 feet, maybe a little more. i have made about 15 passes, and this is the 2nd time i will be having the car re aligned. i am not bottoming the car out, i have madman SYAB on it, and am not hitting them. no matter how tight the bolts are on the lower control arm, they slip and the steering gets toed out. i have QA1 socks, and travel limiters. i like the car coming up about a foot and holding them for about 50-60 feet. it is a lot of fun, but i cant keep paying for alignments. anyone having this problem or have any suggestions?

I am pretty sure I know what your problem is! You need to go buy the correct size washers that have the teeth on them. They make one that the teeth are on the inside of the washer and one that the teeth are on the outside of the washer.

You need the washer with the teeth on the outside. Put them on each side of the bolt that hold each end of the control arm to the K-member. The washer will be behind the bolt head and behind the nut. When you take the car to have it aligned and put the washers in and the bolt and nut is tight against the K-member tabs you are done. Then take paint and mark the location where the bolt and nut is on the K-member tabs this will let you know if they ever move again.

This is what I did two years ago and my car has launched in the air more then 200 times and the control arms have never moved. Now one word of caution when you say that you car has a toe in problem and it has a Madman rack on it this is common if you are talking about when the car goes down the track. If you have a lot of lift on your car while it is going down the track!

I hope this helps, good luck!

mdaction has it right. What ya need to do, is strip the powedercoating off where the botls go thru. Get soem good grade steel washers, assemble the front end so the washers are on teh k member where all the slotted holes are, and once you have the alignment done for the last time, just tack weld all the washers to the K member on both sides of the slots, and 4 good tacks per washer. This will stop anything from shifting again, if there are any adjustment slots anywhere on the rack mount I would do the same there as well, paint them up when it's done, reassemble and you're good to go.

Thanks. That was two possibilities I had in mind. I just did not know if it would cause any problems tack welding them. Thanks
