Default Weight reduction question.

Just wondering if anyone would know if my aftermarket rims (listed in sig) would be lighter than the 17x9 hawk rims that were on it originally? Is aftermarket typically lighter or heavier? I removed my spare/tire jack a couple days ago and assume that saves me 30lbs or so. One step at a time.

Generaly chrome wheels are heavy. The lightest stock wheel was the 16" Firebird wheel. Most 17" and up wheels will be heavier then those. High end wheels like Fiske and HRE might be lighter. Billet Specialties has a new wheel that is street duty rated and lite weight. I found a set of SSR wheels on The Tire Rack a few years ago they are lite. They discontinued them for our cars, they are still made for the high end imports. A Forged wheel will be lighter then a casting. Look in the wheel section
