Default backseat weight reduction

got 4 pounds out of it.
its a quick hack job, but you arent going to see it.
i may go back and cut some more, or drill some holes, not sure.
anyway. give someone some ideas, or get a good laugh out of me.
pound is a pound and i dont like the way my car looks without a rear seat.

It's a nice idea for those that want to keep the rear seats in the car. I would have done it with a hole saw so there wasn't giant chunks missing. If you hole sawed it would probably have more support.

its not any less strong than it was.
i cut the big nasty hole in the middle and bottom cause i want to keep the top full, since thats the portion you see looking into the car.
buddy of mine just had a KILLER idea over what i just done.
just get the foam covered and use some HD velcro to hold it in place. noone is going to be back there with a rollbar anyway, so that would be less weight back there alltogether.
its an idea.
i might give it a shot. only downside if it looks like ****, im screwed. the cover will be too small to go back over the frame then.
ill sleep on it.

We did this to my bros car but we took the whole plastic piece out and just put the leather back over the foam and Velcro the seat back to the carpet. works great and takes out somewhere around 15lbs seat feels stock also

was the cover abnormal looking, or did it still hug nice and tight?

dude, that is awesome.
before i run out and buy the too much or the wrong stuff, what did you use?
i have a small piece here. i need to run out and see, but i think the backrest carpet or the rear hatch carpet should work and only use one side of the velcro?
that would be 8 more pounds out of the car. hahahahaa.

You will need a hooked sewing needle to sew the velcro on with and some nylon thread. We took the rear seat belts out also as long as your passengers are 18 no seatbelts needed if you need seatbelts you can modify your stockers into lap belts thats legal look at me giving sewing lessons

why not just leave them out? i understand "stock appearance" but i just dont see going through with all the trouble just to get 10-15 lbs out.
