Battery relocation with dry cell
Battery relocation with dry cell According to my NHRA rule book when a battery is relocated without a rear firewall you need a battery box. Does this apply with drycell batteries also? Like the Burkhart setup.
Ya I did the same thing with an optima and the bmr kit. As per rules, if they were actualy doing an inspection they probably would still want a battery box. Even though optima had comercials of trucks running over there batteries, try that with a wet cell and an aluminum batterry box and you will not be driving home with that battery,lol.
NHRA does not differentiate between dry, AGM and wet cell batteries. So you must either have a rear bulkhead of either 0.024" thick steel or 0.032" thick alumnium, or enclosed in an sealed box (same thickness as above) or NHRA approved poly box.
