Default need advice to improve 60'

so i went racing in the 1/8th last night and my best run i didnt get a slip for. it dead hooked but it was the only time. i was launching at 5k on stock rear and clutch but i spinned every other time on launch. i am basically stock just catback and lid. I was running a set of 255/50/16 3793r MT et street drag radials. these tires where tons better than my street tires but i was still spinning them off the line. i was doing roughly a 7-10s burnout to heat them up. my best luck was running them at 35psi but i tried 25psi and 20 on a couple runs but it just made them spin more which i though was odd. i have a new clutch and moser 9in with 4:11 coming in next week with the rest of my boltons. will i need some suspension to hook better or is there something i may be doing wrong. my good passes i actually have slips for are as follows. both running 35psi in the tires.

r/t: 794 716
60ft: 2.335 2.341
mph: 75 67.56 ( think i missed third on this one)
ET: 9.450 9.382

i think with what i got if it would actually launch and 60' i should be high 8s in the 1/8th. any advice would be appreciated.

first off you have way to much pressure in them they need to be at 17 psi to start then go down from there ....i was at 15 ish on mine when i had them , but say good by to the 10 bolt if you hook which you will hook ! once you get the new rear come out at 5000 and quick slip the clutch ....LCA'a are a must and i would get front shocks asap to transfer the weight to the rear !

start the car in 2nd and do a burn out till you see smoke in your mirrors and roll out of the box....19 is to much pressure , i was running 15psi going 1.50 60ft's when i had my 6spd ...suspension is key and seat time is more of a factor than people think

your always going to bog with a 6spd i was coming out at 5500 or so depending on track condition's but again practice will solve some of the spinning issues

ya im trying to get the seat time. i have improved alot. went to the track 4 times now and started with like 10.5 1/8th lol. got that down to a 9.5-9.4 with my street tires and just swapped in the dr last night. i race at qualcomm stadium and there box must just suck cause sometimes i catch traction in the waterbox area in 1st so i was just doing like a 5-10s burnout in first. never thought about second gear and i never had smoke rolling off them so that might have been part of the problem.

well qualcomm is really just a parking lot they setup to reduce street racing out here in san diego. i appreciate the advice. hopefully i can get up to the barona 1/8th or california speedway for the 1/4 sometime. being as they are actual tracks the prep should be night and day difference.

1st gear wont give you enough heat in the tires so that and tire pressure are key ....track prep is also very important so keep at it but just remember there so many variables in drag racing

ya i understand that. i try to change slight things every time to see if it improves or not. perfect example is the supercharged vette i smoked cause the driver had no idea how to launch that beast and just spun at the line. that was the one time i dead hooked and i was gone. sadly they where changing paper in the machine so i didnt get a slip for that one
