Default Ls1 to ls6

last wend I blew up my wifes 00 firehawk. It had full bolt ons. it sucked up some water from a puddle and threw a rod through the block. the insurance is going to put a new engine in it and the great guys at RPM are going to hook me up with a 30,000 LS6. i was wondering what i should exspect of an improvment over the LS1 with the bolt ons and cam (not sure specs) from the new engine.

Should gain well. Actual #'s depend on other factors.

Are you installing, or them?? As per the coolant cross over lines that go from the front, to the back need to be elimiated.

Check out the dyno section and search for "LS6" or "LS6 Gains"

I think he is talking about a complete motor since it says rod though the block.

If the motor has a stock cam in it I would expect you to see 40-50 more hp cause of the better heads and slightly larger cam. more power is possible with a bigger cam

It does have a cam in it from old motor but not sure about the specs yet.

when I can afford the heads I want for her car ill be porting the ls6 heads for my car with the ls6 cam im taking out of it to put her cam in it. 40 to 50 sounds good to me.

Her car has all the free mods and most bolt ons already done. LTs, true duals, slp cold air pack, under drive pulleys, ported tb, 85mm maf, 2800 stall, plugs, taylor wires, catch can, ls6 intake, tuned (dyno and HP tuner) built 4l60e, 342 gears w/locker and aubern diff cover w/stud gurtel (cant afford the 12 bolt yet). I think there is more that im forgetting but ill update when i can remember.
