Default Carpet

I'm building (slowly) a 94 camaro for stricly track use. The car has mostly been stripped inside, but has most of the carpet left. Do I have to keep carpet in there for the track, or can I strip it all out? (It's got that old musty carpet smell)

Sorry for the dumb question, but still learning as I go.

You don't need carpet for the track, but you do need to cover any holes in the floor. And carpet doesn't count as a covering.

Rip it out and buy Ozite, looks exactly like stock and weighs nearly nothing.
