How does "open comp" work?
How does "open comp" work? My local 1/8th track has heads up classes 6.50 7.50 and open comp.
I know how the first two work, but how does open comp work?

Open Comp is usually run on a 5 tenths pro tree with a competitor getting a set "index" or "dial-in" for the race.
The way it works in NHRA division 2 is 1/8-mile, 5 tenths pro tree, transbrakes and 2 steps allowed, but no delay boxes and no throttle stops or timers. You get 2-3 time runs, and they drop .05 from the fastest pass for your index/dial-in. Example would be you run 7.22, 7.21 and 7.23, your index would be 7.16 for the weekend/night/whatever.

One more question though. Do you leave at the same time or is it a delay for the fast car like normal ET races?
