Enough said. UMI is a top-notch bunch. They can't spoon-feed every person that purchases their product. The original poster should feel like a complete moron now (because the facts presented definitely make you look like one).

Thanks to all for the support, we truly appreciate it!

I can understand how David would be frustrated when installing an item and realizing you are missing something. I wasn't trying to start a war but wanted to tell our side of the story.

Thanks again,
Ryan

the OP needs to stop posting on the internet and get a clue. they are fuggin bolts that NEED to be upgraded anytime you are asking the stock platform to handle more stress than OEM designed.

get over yourself and stop complaining!

If I complain to various supporting vendors and threads with me complaining about things that are clearly my fault, can I get free parts?

If so.... UMI didn't label my SFC's, and I put them on upside down/backward/on top of my t-tops. They are now snapped in half. I want new ones for free.

Listen guys, I've spent tens of thousands of $ with the sponsors of LS1 Tech with a minimum of problems. I have praised UMI numerous times for their products in the past. What really set me off this time was $17.32 shipping, anyone that believes that is fair and reasonable is off their rocker.

I have dealt directly with Ryan in the past so I don't believe I was out of line trying to explain to him that I didn't think it was right selling a product without the installation hardware. As an example I'm installing a B&M Hammer shifter for a T400, B&M sent 2 handfuls of nuts and bolts to cover various types of installs. Also I called UMI first, unlike many others who bitch and post first, before they contact a company. I still think $37+ for 2 bolts is a rip and IMO I have good reason to be pissed.

So you're pissed off because you don't think their price is fair? And that justifies this thread? If you don't like a price you look somewhere else, pretty simple. You don't post up with some jackass rant about a good sponsor

So all this for 20 bucks? Come on, seriously. It's an aftermarket part, you can't expect to use factory bolts. What a cheap ***.

So just to recap here. You have a $50,000 Corvette..and have spent "THOUSANDS" of dollars with sponsors on LS1Tech. Yet your not willing to fork over the money for the correct hardware for your build? Grade 8 bolts aren't cheap. I'm willing to bet they buy in small bulk orders or just individually and make little to nothing off of bolts. The car industry can be a SHADY place, and it seems like for spending "THOUSANDS" of dollars you've had pretty damn good luck. They posted numerous threads of you bitching about every little thing that you buy. I've also spend thousands with LS1Tech sponsors...I've had a few mishaps and they were corrected at once. I ordered a UMI Torque arm from Byunspeed, it came in the wrong color. I couldn't wait for another and I didn't even say anything to Young. But if I did I bet he would be more than willing to exchange it at his shipping cost, which would result in him barely making a dollar if not losing money on the torque arm.

I'm amazed this forum is still free. There is a hell of a lot of stand up sponsors here with lots of good information. I run UMI/BMR. Both companies have spend a very good amount of time on the phone with me and dont sugar coat ****. When I ask a question they give me a straight forward answer and thats it.

You have no reason to be pissed. TWO sponsors told you to buy the bolts. You didn't buy them. Then your going to blame it on UMI when you bought it from a 3rd party dealer? GET A CLUE.

I don't know about anyone else but $17.32 shipping is a lot of money to send some bolts. I personally would be unhappy with it also. The rest of your ranting is just stupid.

They probably have a commerical shipping account with UPS/Fedex, etc. It works a little different. By the time you factor in the time for an employee to process that order, pack it and ship it..I'm willing to bet they make little to nothing off of a bolt kit. Go look at Grade 8 hardware at any hardware store, it's not cheap because its good stuff. Besides the fact, $30-$40 is CHUMP CHANGE in a $20,000+ build. It's some ******* bolts, like seriously? All this fuss over some bolts? If the OP wants to play magiver then he can go to his local Lowes and hope they have the same bolt size and hack something together.

Without all the sponsors here who spend THOUSANDs upon THOUSANDS of dollars in R&D, then let alone to mass produce a product all of our cars would still be stock. You have to pay to play.

This makes sense but your forgetting something. The sponsors spend $ on R&D so they can sale there products and have limited repercussions if there products fail. This has nothing to do with charging $17.xx for shipping. I'm sure it takes all of 5 minutes to package a set of bolts and put a shipping label on it. To me, it's just another way for a company to make money when charging these types of prices for bolts. I'm not defending his post or standing up for his comments but I do feel the cost is more then I would be happy with.

The shipping price is rediculous for sure but even then all he had to do was look somewhere else, it doesn't justify this dumbass thread.
