If you have a class where you race that you like thats cool no one is trying to change that. But if there is a class where a nitrous sb can weight 3100 and another where they are 3200# maybe we can get them together.

Here in NC we have VMP, Peidmont, Roxboro, Fayetville, Benson, Rockingham, and other tracks that have 275 classes with similar rules but if we could get them together the radial scene would just be better for it.
hell weight is the easiest thing to change.... for the most part if you use nitrous thats pretty much all you have to change.... the FI crowd has to go by different tip size and housing size...

thats the one reason i like nitrous.... its easy to cap off one system and add or take out weight.

That John Sears guy has put a lot of work into trying to come up with universal rules. Seems like he's still trying to reconcile the turbo sizes.

I think John Sears is doing a hell of a job. Now we just need to spread the rules up and down the east coast instead of just 4 or 5 tracks running the same rules.

I think it would be great if guys from florida could come up to MIR and race there cars as they were because the rules are the same and vice versa.

Yeah he's done a great job, hopefully it will keep the races all similar to each other.

Very close to our limited 10.5 class. I like these rules and already some guys running 8.50's here.

I've never seen rules that detailed before.

What times are guys running with those rules, around here they are a little more wide open.

5.4x-5.6x's... I think one person ran a 5.39 in perfect weather the last race of the season

the 1/8 mile track in Houston, how do you compete with an LS motor when obviously the way to win is w/ a BB? The weight minimum doesn't seem to make up for any difference in cubes.

If you've got 2 identical cars with same chassis, both running a power adder making 2hp/cubic inch, how does the guy with 100 fewer cubic inches even think about qualifying? Does an extra 100 lbs on a BB really put these cars on even field at these power levels?

A small block only, limited cu inch, single power adder, stock suspension class would be appealing.

instead of wanting a class built around your car, why not build a car for a class. we took the lsx out of my car and put a BBC in it because it makes more power and cheaper and easier to work on and find parts for. there are quite a few small block only classes out there.

With the X275 rules that they run in the MD,VA,NC,and GA area the fastest pass has been 5.07 by SMITH with a nitrous LS motor. There have also been a bunch of 5.teens by other nitrous small blocks. As far as I know there hasn't been a race won by a BB car yet. Going by these rules N/A BB is only 100# lighter than a n2o SB, and a n2o BB is 300# heavier w/ conventional heads and 400# heavier w/ big chiefs.

MINIMUM WEIGHTS WITH DRIVER:
Small Block
* Naturally Aspirated 2600 lbs.
* Nitrous 3000 lbs.
* Single YSI / F1A Supercharger 3000 lbs.
* Single F1C Supercharger 3100 lbs.
* Single F1R / Xi Supercharger 3200 lbs.
* Single 76mm T6 Turbocharger 3000 lbs.
* Single 80mm T6 Turbocharger 3100 lbs.
* Single 85mm T6 Turbocharger 3200 lbs.
* Single 88mm T6 Turbocharger 3250 lbs.
* Roots blown up to 10-71 3250 lbs.
Big Block
* Naturally Aspirated (standard deck height and conventional head) 2900 lbs.
* Naturally Aspirated (tall deck height and conventional head) 3000 lbs.
* Naturally Aspirated (standard height and Big Chief head or non-conventional) 3100 lbs.
* Nitrous (conventional head) 3300 lbs.
* Nitrous (Big Chief or non-conventional head) 3400 lbs. Limited to a single spray bar plate and a single nitrous solenoid of maximum 1" diameter. No SV1 type carbs.

* Small Blocks with single stage nitrous system: deduct 100 lbs.
* Small Blocks with 23 degree Chevy heads, 20 degree Ford heads, and 18 degree Mopar heads: deduct 100 lbs.

I'm not saying that a sprayed BB cant win but with 3400# with one stage on a single bar plate, they would need to have a bad *** motor.

Has anyone even been able to make a Fbody 2600lb raceweight NA with an iron block? LSX specifically because thats how you get the biggest cubes. What is keeping the weights so low? Is it to keep the older certs (25.5) legal?

I'd like to know how to make an F Body 2600 lbs w/ an aluminum block, much less an LSX. Got to be damn impossible w/o cutting the thing up and basically starting from scratch.

How about the Warhawk block? Aluminum ain't it?

Talk about a way to keep NA cars out of radial!
NA cars need the weight on the sidewall of a radial to get it to hook. So "giving" them 2600lbs is actually a handicap.
I'd like to see the weights like this 3100 base weight (NA,SB)
Turbo/blower? - +300
N20? - +250
BB? - +150
The radial class is designed for stock frame rail cars (ie not hacked up). You are shooting yourself in the foot for the class making the weight mins so low.
A basic fbody w/ chromoly 10pt, tube suspension, full glass, full frame rails and an iron block will sit around a comfortable 3100-3200 (Camaro vs Firebird) NOT including driver. Any less and you are trying to make the class exactly what it didn't want to be IMHO. But hey, thats why I went ahead and bought a Mustang, I am not going to play this fbody "trim the fat" game. My Mustang has the basics (chromoly cage, tube suspension, !Airbags, !heat/AC) nothing drastic and can easially smoke the weight of a fbody in similar condition even with an iron block. Why not make the class heavier (ie 3200+) and just let the Mustang guys retain a couple parts here and there
Sorry for the book but I've been
