Default footbrakers??

was leaving the line at 4000 rrpms and a 5.00 gear. 30" tire.
i have played with the timing up and down and found leaving the line with 34 degrees of timing helped with my reaction times.
i just put a 4.22 gear in the car on the same set of tires, and it will only brake up to 3600. youd think the gear would put more load and actually stall up more.
not the case.
im puzzled.
trying to get some ideas where guys like the timing on launch, or if you even worry about it.

sounds like the brakes won't hold at a higher rpm at the line and that's the issue? I have the timing around 28 degrees at launch but never messed with it honestly. Will be doing more TnT on it later in the year.

brakes arent the issue. i can sit there and bind the car up till the rear end looks like a cat fixing to fight.
its just strange that i could footbrake the 5.00 more than the 4.22.

if you can lock the brakes up before and after the gear swap i'd say something else got screwed up. It should stall the same if the vehicle is not moving at the launch while the tree drops. Knock loose some plug wires or something?
