Default two step question

i just installed a msd 6al and a 2 step onto my 94 trans am with a built 4l60e 3200 rpm stall and a set of 4.10s in a ten bolt.

my question is if launching off of the 2 step is gonna be harder on my car then launching just off of the footbrake?

i currently have 18 inch street tires but am on the lookout for a set of et streets or et drags for my stock 16 inch rims

and also with a 2 step do i pill it for like 100 rpm less than when my tires start to overpower the brakes?

Not any harder than a power brake. Once you get the stickys mickeys on you will want to experiment with the RPM. The closer you pill to the stall speed the less the converter will flash, it will soften the hit but increase responce. Pill it low and it will have more of a run into the converter, flashing it higher. Having it pilled just before the brake torque point will bunch the suspension, most likely wont work very well.

I'm guessing your using the 2 step to help get consistent reaction times?

Doubt it will help with 60' times. I don't know much about your setup other than an auto,3200 stall,4.10's. That stall is kinda low and you will want to flash it high as possible. That usually takes leaving off idle.

Unless your trying to help with spin on street tires and use the 2 step like traction control?

I really am not too sure what all the two step will help with. I got a killer deal on the 6al and two step also the lt1 harness. that is why i am on here to learn how to use it properly. stock lt1 stock intake stock manifolds loudmouth exhaust 4.10s 3200 Stall in a built trans. And 245 40 18s on bmw Rims

Don't mean to hijack but where on the trans brake circuit do you connect the 2 step?

You want to leave off the transbrake and 2 step.
How to wire....

Brake - 2 step
Brake pressure switch to coil side of relay 1
Other side of coil on relay 1 to ground
#30 to +12
#87A to 2 step activation

Tranksbrake 2 step
Transbrake button to coil side of relay 2
Other side of coil on relay 2 to ground
#30 to +12
#87A to 2 step activation

Either relay will trigger the 2 step, get lined up ready to pre-stage, 4" from first beam, foot brake the car until it gets on the 2 step roll in and stage, switch to transbrake should have nice solid boost leaving.

Most people dont use a 2 step with an auto unless you race in a class that allows them(most do) and for that purpose is more of a tuning tool for reaction times. You could activate it with a hand button to act as a crude traction control on street tires. In your case try leaving from idle to WOT once you get sticky tires on it.

To keep the TB release as quick as possible wire the sol. directly to the button,no relay. I'm not sure if your 2 step is B+ or B- activated. If activated by B+ tap into the feed from the button to the sol. You may or maynot need a diode.(edit: assuming your running 12 volts through the button)

You want 12 volts on the blue wire in the 2 pin connector to activate the LO setting of the 2 step.

PDF manual for the 6010 below.
