Default How much did Subframes help you?

I'm finally putting in some subframes on the car this week and also going to a 28x10.5x15 MT slick. How much of a difference did any of you guys notice in the 60ft from putting them in?

So far I've been a 1.528 @ 6.96 1/8th best, but the car is twisting pretty hard. Just curious

The car will prob still twist a little until you get a drag bar on there but SFC will keep her level and plant the tires more evenly. Either you may gain, or at very least become more consistant and stop hammering the chassis of the car.

Subframes should have been the first thing you did before the car even went to the track.

You're going to find, that when you go to put them on there's a fair chance that the car is twisted. You'll find out when you go to weld them on.

For me, there was no change in my 60' or my 1/4 ET. Really, like everyone else is saying, they are necessary to reduce body flex. You don't want a F-Body with stress dimples on the quarters!

Maybe I'll be lucky and it will still be pretty close when we go to weld them in. The only downside I was having was inconsistent 60fts. They varied from 1.52-1.56. The car was still pretty consistent considering though.

1.43 here
no sfc

?

I think most are a joke and just weight to your car. Going from the end of the frame rails that have some spot welds to the floor. To one side of the LCA tab. There good themselfs. But what they go to I dont think in gona improve much of what need to be improved. With or without a 6 point the don't tie into anything well. I think just a 6point on good well fitting plates with extra work. Bent up to tie into the car better is going to help more. I've been fine with that, good shocks and rear swaybar.
The wolfe thu floor are good, The catch the whole end of the front rails, Then ther door bars weld SOILD to outrigger box tubing. The hoop sits right on The same style box tubing rails. Most cars with The other DIY install SFC have the roolbar on a plate, then the SFC have nice end plates. But they dont tie to each other any good.

You need them. You really need to stiffen up these cars to make them work.
