oddball torque arm crossmember question
does the crossmember HAVE to be run strait across the bottom of the body, or can i make a brace with a bend in it?
if you are looking at a clock, think 10 and 3, or 10:15 (am or pm dont matter)
i want to change my torque arm setup to save weight and gain some clearance, but i am not sure how an angled crossmember will affect my suspension. either in tuning, or lifting the car to one side when launching.
lets here it.

i am terrible with computers.
i am good with google!
basically this is what im wanting to do.
tie in on the drivers side at 10, then run the tubing exactly like the image over to the passenger side.
the mounting point for the drivers side will be roughly 12-14" in front of the passenger side mount.
it will still tie into the body and be secure, ive just never seen it done this way.
may make the car leave funny. im not a suspension guy. just wanting some opinions.
thanks.

I don't know if where you want to mount it will be solid enough... it should be, but I don't know
The arm just has to be mounted in the correct height, and in a strait line, as long as those 2 things are right, you should be able to have the mount sit like you're talking.
I have a BMR th400 crossmember with tq arm relocation, and both mounting points aren't level with each other, the bar is shaped like a J, well sort of. And it works fine.

its in my 3rd gen. subframe is a lil different in that area.
exhaust is a pita, floorpan doesnt cooperate.
i was going to try out the burkhart bar.
its short enough to where its out of the way of everything, but where it needs a crossbar, there is no room.
ahah.
