Will a 28" tire work??? After coming off the dyno, I was at 118 mph at 6400 rpm with a MT 26" Stiff wall slick and 4.11 gears. I want to be able to trap 133-136 mph and cross the traps around 6700. This is an A4 so converter slippage needs to be factored in. I am considering a gear change if necessary.
2nd part of the question, I am looking at 3 different tires the Hoosier Drag Radial, the MT Drag Radial a (275-60-15 or 325-50-15) and the MT Stiffwall slick. Which is recommended with a hard hitting Circle-D converter???

Your going to need to swap to a 28" slick or swap out gears, but I would advise the taller tire. As far as tire selection my vote is the MT slick, I'm not a radial man myself because I like the consistency of a slick.

Well to be safe I ordered a 3.73 gear set. I will be right at 6500rpm at 135mph with a 26.5" tire taking converter slippage into consideration. If I step up to a 28" tire I will be about 6200. The gear should help me hook as well especially with the 4L60e.

same setup 150 shot, 10.008@133mph 1.38. Same 7000 rpm shift points.
I had a friend who sprayed a low 11 T/A with 300 and went 9.40@14xmph with 4.10's.
