Default What is a "Two-step" used for?

I've heard this term often but never knew exactly what is does. I know it has something to do with RPM limiting and is used at launch. Could some one please explain what it is, how to use it and why some one would use it?

thanks

Andy

Limits fuel delivery and/or spark to the engine at a given rpm. Allows you to bring rpm to a given point and hold it. More consistent launches

Todd's right, but kind of left out an important fact...

It's nothing more than a low-side rev-limiter (usually activated by engaging the clutch pedal or transbrake button). At WOT, your rpm's are held at a predetermined constant.

They can come in really handy... My car would never hook until I set the 2-step RPM to ~3400rpm or so. The Harlan 2-step was pretty much a lifesaver for me...
