I switched from stock snowflakes to 15x8 summit star w/ MT et street radials and 15x3.5 greg weld front.
snowflakes weighed: 46 lbs ea.
15x8 rears: 48 lbs ea.
15x3.5 fronts with 165 radial: 28 lbs ea.
total loss: 32 lbs
I didn't notice much of a gain on the track but never made back to back runs with each combo. 32 pounds of rotating weight should be good for about a tenth.

A wheel and tire combo is like stall converters and rear end gear ratios....
They should be figured out LAST.
This is due to the fact that you need to figure out the gear ratio needed, how much sidewall give you need, and IF you need to increase your over all diameter of the tire.
In general, start running a gear calc. If you know your RPM on the traps, you can play with it and figure out what you need. You should be going with a 15" rim but you may need a 8 or 10" wide rim which changes tires choices and rim choices as well as the need to grind calipers.
Also the type of tire be it a DR or Bias ply will matter and is this a track only rim, or a street/strip etc etc.
What info do you have bout the car such is drive train, mods, power, raceweight, gear ratios etc etc.
To answer the inital question is yes, it should gain, and gain well but to INVEST into this mod, you should do it right, the 1st time, not the 3rd.

SJM are the the Shiz.... I love their stuff and Bogarts kick ***. WHEN I Can afford rims, I'd like them to be it as I want a 15 x 10 (theirs is like 9.75) due to wanting a 28" tall tire w/ a 4.30 gear. This will work with the weight now and even when it gets cut down and I will have the needed side wall when I am 5k clutch dumping making 380/390 N/A w/ a 150 shot..... (Clutch may go BOOM)

Yup, your right. I never went beyond 5k-5,500 due to the excellent weight xfer and going more didnt help. But we will see, I gotta sell some junk to buy some junk.

You need to just work a 2nd job, and get that wife of yours off the couch even if it means working at walmart.
I'd leave the car alone, get the front shocks on it, and just put a real set of rims/tires on it.
I told you already, I"m locking yout t tops and taking the key, getting the buck knife out and ripping the a/c belt off, and I'm gonna theft recovery your stereo head unit out of the car.
If you can deal with a gaping hole in the dash, no a/c and the t tops being locked and you're unable to unlock them to remove them for a summer, then you're ready to do something in the pwr department. Until then, there's nothing under the hood of that car that needs to eb touched other then oil changes, and the shock tower bolts that I need to pull to change the shocks. That's it, so stop trying to sell what you're not sure is good or bad yet!!!
