i sure hope that isnt a final product....from what i can see it looks like the door bar is fully welded to that pillar bar and up top the pillar bar is fully painted and not welded at all

yea... you're right... because we paint the back half and the door bar/pillar bar as assemblies outside the car before they are welded in so the bars at top of the main hoop are able to be fully welded. this pic was taken before is was finished. and yes... we can assemble a complete cage in two pieces outside the car, paint it, and then attach the front and rear half inside the car. notice how tight the headliner and main hoop fit, and there is no damage to the headliner that was never removed from the car, the bar is fully painted, no overspray on the car.

I am very happy with my midwest cage.

I like the MWC and the wolfe style plates for the main hoop, and the door bars setup. Having the 2 3x3 plates, and puting one up along the rocker should be stronger. That spot without welding them to a rocker tube under, or on a outrigger the wolfr thu floor SFC. Is probally the strongest spot on the stock floor to put the hoop. There 3-4 layers in that spot.
I drilled some bigger 3/4 holes in the floor under my door plates right on the sides of were the "U" of the underside bracing (front frame rails) is. And I plug welded them from the bottom, tieing them into the plates alot better then them just haveing the spot welds to the floor panel.
The rear tubes were you put them a few inches, makes them over the single layer metal over gastack. Or the front outisde more were the coil is, and the upper shock braket is. There 4-5 layers there. The spot alot were the lower area for the jack, is over the coil.

For those that had their cages done at MWC..
If your pillar bars went through the dash, did MWC cut the dash too and install it with a clean look? I've had bad experience in the past with the dash looking chopped up in order for the dash to fit around the bars.

I spoke with Eric earlier today regarding this and he stated he was able to trim the dash to fit the bars no problem. I actually booked my 8pt for him also. Give him a call, very informative and professional.
