Default What do you think of this cage...

Cant post the link because I think it violates forum rules but here are the pics.
One thing im a little bit curious of is the main loop. It looks in some pictures like the main loop is in multiple parts unlike most I see which are one solid peice. If anyone has any experience with these cages please let me know.

thats a very common setup the pillar bars are extended to the main hoop ....i just looked again do u mean the main hoop or the halo. cause if u mean the main hoop then it looks like its multiple sections but its just the way the other bars that join it are notched, there notched a little deeper. other wise it looks good.-tony-

I really like this companies setup but the thing I dont like is how forward the main hoop is and how far away from the outside of the car is. Idk maybe it is just me.

Yea I mean the main loop behind the driver. I can't tell if they are notched extra deep or if the main loop is multiple peices.

I agree I think it looks very clean and the price is pretty good too. My main worries are like you said the main loop looks like it sits forward, I am going to run through floor subframe connectors and want the cage to mount to those, I can't see if it has a bar connecting the downbars behind the dash although it must, and just the possibility of having problems with the install and not getting any support from the seller because it's on shmebay. I'm deciding between this, the Wolfe and the Midwest chassis cages.

I think the main hoop is one piece. What company makes that one? Don't post contact info, but you can say who'e producing it... just don't provide any contact info.

I agree the main hoop to me needs to be wider, and should be a touch farther back IMO. Being that it's in a hardtop car, you could also kick the bars that are coming forward up some into the roof and make a bit mroe head room... something I wish I could have done but I'd never be able to get to the t top's that way.

The main hoop is one piece. I assure you of that. The pics are of one of the Southern Outlaw Shop cages we are offering via mail order from KY Turbo Inc. These guys have some very nice Cages. 10pt and 25.2 Cage kits are available. All Molly. No Mild steel ****.
I just finished installing on of thier cages for a customer. It is one of the tightest mail order cages I have worked with to date.

I didn't see anything like this on the KY Turbo website, what's the pricing on the 10pt kit?

My website is in serious need of an update. That is going to be taken care of shortly.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

10pt 4130 pre bent/notched cage kits on sale for $800 shipped. Comparable kits sell for $1100 shipped! Swing out door bars are available as well for an added fee.

25.2 4th Gen F body cage kits are available now. The design is finished. This will not be a stocking item, however a complete kit can be completed 3 weeks from the order date. Pricing will be $3800 shipped for a limited time. Thanks again everyone

Thats cheaper than I was going to pay but yea thats the same place.

What is your opinion on the height of the main hoop crossbar? I am tall so it shouldnt matter but is it really as high up as it looks in the picture? Have you ever happened to install them with wolfe through floor subframe connectors and if so how did the two fit?

Thanks, thats awesome a sponsor sells it.

After looking at examples of other kits by reputable builders this seems rather good for a mail order. The main hoop seems to fit great.

I was wondering if they make them to clear stock doorpanels and if they come with a dash bar?

The main hoop is tall. It is able to be trimmed if you would like it lower. The door bars do clear the door panels. I have some pics on the computer at the shop. The dash bar I will have to check on. It is not needed if there have been no modifications to the fire wall.

Keep in mind the listed prices are sales prices and will only be honored for a limited time.
