Default part question / weight reduction

This might not fit in the drag racing section or even fit as weight reduction because it weighs about nothing. What is the black canister mounted on the outside of the passenger side frame rail, right behind the horn. It appears to have a black vacum line attached. I'm in the process of disasembling and getting rid of stuff I don't need, and this is the only part I can't figure out.

Thanks, yea it's unbolted just dangling. Would seem less then a pound. I just didn't know what it was, and didn't want to throw it out in case I needed it.
