Default Easy street car weight reduction

Im in the process of slowely turning my car into a drag car and am looking for advice on the easiest of weight reductions. Car is not a DD and im not worried about creature comforts, just a starting point.

already is
no spare/jack
no bumper supports
no washer fluid/pump/reseviour
no air system
no back seats

thinking of doing soon:
delete ac/heat
p/s

is it possible to:
pull up the carpet and scrape out the sound deadening material?
remove anything in the engine bay?

whats required in deleteing the asr

my abs already doesnt work because of the difference in sizze of my tires so how hard/what is required for deleting teh abs?

I've even heard of people removing unused wires from their wiring harnesses.

Are you looking for free things to remove or lighter parts as well?

If it's a street car I wouldn't mess with the sound deadening material. Last november I gutted my car just to see what it was worth in the 1/4 before the cam swap. I drove about an hour to and from the track and it was miserable. I'll never do it again.

Plus with only having a driver's seat and dash on the inside it was nowhere near worth the ride or effort to gut the car. I only gained about .25 and 2 mph. I also pulled the bumper support, sway bar, and air pump. I can't think of anything else at the moment.

When you decide to turn the corner and make it a track only car then go all out. For a street car I'd rather put a little more money in and try to get more power out of it.

Currently its just free weight. I'm saving for a tubular k member and tubular suspension parts, also planning on kirkley seats when I put the roll cage in and go with 5 point harnesses. Also as things brake I get whatever drag oriented part I can to replace them

The car is driven t and from the track, and out on fri/sat nights. To mess around with friends and people on the street. I have a DD and the car is only driven by me and I truely don't mind the noise, its not the first time I've had to deal with obnoxious noises. I drove on slicks with open headers for 2 months and didn't mind at all

I hear ya... I'm about to start removing stuff on my little car.

I'm gunna get rid of ABS and the power brakes, power steering, front supports, and anything else I can find, included un needed plastic peices, any un used metal brackets, and anything else I can find!

I am going to get rid of the factory carpet and sound deadening material but I'm going to dynamat the car and add the speed inc lightweight carpet. I already have the K-member and other goodies, just need some lightweight breaks.

I'm going for a max effort with the motor I have... which is a solir rollered 408 w/ meaux stage 3 ls6s. I've gotta shed weight so I can add it back with a cage and the 9" rear.

YOu have been a member long enough to understand that the search bar will give several discussions about this. IT has been broken down so many times about this subject.

I appreciate you being an *** there boss! I haven't been on this since 2005.... I have a big gap of stuff to catch up on. Lots of this information was not availible way back when, and the search button doesnt always provide exactly what one needs.

Let's not turn this into a pissing contest.
The search function has been revised quite a bit over the time the board has been around. It's not there for people to say "use the search function, dumbass." It's there to help members out instead of creating new threads where they may not get much response b/c the subject has been discussed before and some might not want to re-type their input again.

It'd be easier to not type anything than to tell someone to use the search.

Here's info on the carpet. Don't bother peeling that **** off the stock one, just replace it with the right stuff. Or do the whole car in ozite if you want.

My car has only gotten slightly louder after this. It's noticeable, but not crazy
