I just ripped it all out Didn't remove the dash, probably would have been 5x easier if I had. If I remember right the only thing I had to do was loop the radiator hose that goes to the heater core.

Sure did, but more like destroyed it. Was determined to not remove the dash so I broke it apart with a hammer and vice grips.

Prettty much what they said. Toook everything off then with a combination of: block of wood, hammer, sledge hammer, crow bar, and a few other goodies got the HVAC out in a bunch of pieces haha. I didn't have to plug anything just loop heater hose. Definitly cleans it up and makes workin back there nice.

This isn't a write up per say but it might help. At any rate the dash needs to come out if your pulling the HVAC.

Goooooooooood ****** luck. I took my dash out on a Saturday, and spent a good part of Sunday smashing the hell outta the rest of the HVAC crap to remove it all.

I didn't use a write-up, I just used the write-up on the dash removal (sooo helpful in finding all those extra hidden screws), and then started pulling, breaking, cutting, smashing things out. A good set of vice grips, some pliers, and a case of beer are recommended. Good luck.

Why do you all say its hard to pull the dash? You only have to pull it back a bit, have it at an angle and take the screws out, unplug it all and it comes right out.

I can take one out in an hour on any car even one with a cage, its really not that hard...

1. Take off all lower panels, glovebox to access some plugs easier.
2. pull dash pad, a pilars, kickpanels
3. Unbolt steering column from bottom of dash let it hang
4. pull radio, hvac, unplug the ASR and Fog light switches
5. undo the 2 13mm bolts by the doors
6. unscrew the 7mm bolts where the dash pad covered
7. Unplug the heater box, all plugs
8. pull body control module behind the glovebox, unplug all wires in that corner
9. Pull center counsel, undo 2 10mm bolts at bottom of the dash
10. Slide dash back and out with the passenger side further out.
11. Unbolt all screws from inside and outside in engine bay that attach the heater/ac box.
12. Pull box out, install delete plate and reverse instructions.

Should not take all day, should not take more that 2 hours max for a newbie.

Hope this helps.

Well, i went in with the mindset of, unbolt everything nicely off of the firewall and take it out in one piece, so after i got the dash and evefything out of the way i took out 4 screws and then went to town with a hammer lol. All in all start to finish COMPLETE HVAC removal took me just around 6 hours from start of pulling the dash to the time we turned the key and backed it out of the garage, it may have been 6 1/2 hours, but def not 7. Wasnt hard at all and not i have a nice big hallow dashboard lol

i just made my own, got a piece f 19x14 flat tin from a local shop and did a tad bit of trimming, duct taped it to the inside of the firewall, did the same for the outside then ran HUGE self tapers through the two of them and everything is working out perfect. Took it out on the freeway and it withstood 120+ mph so i think its all okay
