Stoichiometric ratio for Nitromethane 1.7:1

The oxygen in nitromethane's molecular structure means that nitromethane does not need as much atmospheric oxygen to burn, part of the oxygen needed to burn nitromethane is carried in the fuel itself.

^^ Yuppers.

Fun stuff to smell. I got a good wiff of it last year on a Top Fuel Car getting tuned at their spot and nearly gassed us out.

Bad ***! I seem to remember Zizzo making a small pass down Milwaukee Ave back when Fluky's was still around lol.

Anyways Thanks to AES for letting Paul borrow a VS compressor sure made life easier for us!

If I get a chance tomorrow I will take a picture of a head and post it.

Keep in mind that the motor pushes enough fuel into them on one run that most cars can go 150 + miles on.

They run on the verge of hydrolock. I'd love to see some more information in this thread!

Eddie, I thinks it's pretty cool that not only are you a pro driver but a gear head too. Will pro stock bike be at Bristol next month?

I haven't found them to be all that interesting. It seems like TF stuff is just big and strong to handle the power.

Interesting. Looks like there's just a massive port, to move a TON of air/fuel.. more fuel then air.

Still neat to see, more I see about this the more I think it really is just the fuel.

it is all about the fuel. JL put some in the bird and watch it fly. Pretty much my life dream would be to feel what a ride like that would be like.

Yeah... I don't think the ls motor will like that much

Maybe 1 or 2 percent, and anymore then that I don't think will go over real well. And even then... I am not the one that's gonna try to pioneer that effort.

that is awesome... i have never seen one of the TF heads up close before. and from what I have been told before, those engines flow so much fuel per cylinder that if the dual ignition didnt fire it would cause the engine to hydrolock

Actually, the ignition system only works for about half the run. After that, the spark plugs are totally consumed and no longer firing, the engine is just dieseling. That's why the only way to shut the engine down after the run is to cut the fuel.
