what's my pinion angle? hello,after lowering my 2001 camaro 1 inch in the back,i took a magnetic angle finder and placed it flat on the rear end housing.i came up with -1 degree.i then held it on the driveshaft around 12 inches from the rear end.i came up with -3 degrees.so is my pinion angle -4 degrees? i read on the wolfe web site that -4 was good for stock suspension with rubber mounts.did i check the angle's correctly?i'm just thinking that when i was 1 inch higher in the back,the angle was more closer to -6 or so.i had traction problems some times at the track,so i was wondering if too much negative angle was hurting me hook.also ,i never got any wheel hop on my m.t. drag radials.any input is appreciated.thanks.
I like measuring it off the flat part of the pinion yoke. You measured -1 on the housing. If that flat area is parallel to the flat end of the yoke, you pinion angle is -1 degree.

^^ I think thats wrong. Regardless of whether its a negative or positive angle, the key is the difference between the two. So if he is -1 on the diff and -3 on the shaft the difference is 2*.
However, bc346... be sure you have someone sitting in the driver seat before you take your measurements as it may affect the DS angle....that is if you didn't already.

Not wrong at all. Driveshaft angle means nothing....
